Chateau Musar, a storied winery founded in 1930, is situated in a magnificent 18th-century castle in Ghazir, a mere fifteen miles north of Beirut, Lebanon. The estate's vineyards were remarkably close to the front line of the Lebanon War of 1982, and during the 1983 harvest, fierce fighting raged around the vines. In fact, winemaker Serge Hochar had to be smuggled in by small boat to produce the wine, and for a brief period, the wine cellars doubled as bomb shelters for the local populace.

Musar Jeune, formerly known as Cuvée Rouge, is a red wine with a spicy twist. While many tasters compare it to Bordeaux, Rhône, or Burgundy wines, Musar stands apart in a class of its own. This wine is the life of the party with its unique personality that is both sophisticated and laid-back. Ripe raspberries, black cherries, and dark fruits are plentiful, with hints of smoke and pine alongside light, silky tannins. Pair it with steak tartare or, even better, lamb shawarma!
