NY is still an under-the-radar wine region that is producing incredible wines, and the North Fork’s Kontokosta is a prime example. Family owned, this small batch winery is a destination in itself. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find these exclusive wines outside of their tasting room. A bottle shared in late fall overlooking the bluffs create an etherial experience. And if you have the chance to meet the proprietor, you’ll immediately understand the connection between the family, surroundings, and palate.
This Cabernet Franc maintains a subtle balance of structure, with a depth of complexity to spare. It’s delicious when first uncorked, yet really opens up after 30 minutes of air.
